Time Travel Device 3

Time Travel Device 3 (Brescia) is the third iteration of a series of works started in Marfa, in the desert in far west Texas.

The floor piece (made of paint and plaster on canvas) acts as an energy field and catalyst, sending resonant energy waves upwards and outwards through the architecture above.

The sculptures (or objects) that sit on top of the energy field expand in all directions and are made from wood, plaster, string and screen. Expansion clay stones are placed. 3 video projectors are placed one behind the other creating a video inside a video inside a video. The projections are sent through the sculptures, through the screen which creates a projection on, in and through. And then arriving at a double screen wall that splits the image yet again.

Using the past, that informs the now, towards ideas of the future is central to the piece.
