Rob Mazurek embraces the architecture of sound as vision and vision as sound to radically engage with form and feeling as a conduit towards new ways of seeing and hearing.  His works concern the transfiguration of sound into moving images and stills (sound prints).  These prints stand alone, or are reconfigured through painting/mark making.  

These new works, specifically designed for this exhibition, are a continuation and elaboration on his Radical Chimeras series, embodied in the recorded works Dimensional Stardust, Lightning Dreamers and Live at the Adler Planetarium of his flagship large ensemble Exploding Star Orchestra on International Anthem Records.  Using sound as a determining point, these works fuse disparate elements to create a thing and then subvert a thing into new states of being. 

Through these projections of abstract forms, Mazurek invites viewers/listeners into spatial and perceptual realities and imagined realities that trigger new sensations, inviting viewers to see and hear in a more expansive way.
